Through the Decades

1930's: (Death of Waynes, birth of Batman)
Batman: "Born again from depression. They were dark times but I would survive them. I would become whatever I needed to be, do whatever I needed to. I went to war."

1940's: (Robin, fighting Hugo strange)
Batman: "I saw my country needed me. I went to war to protect what I love. I was joined by allies to fight enemies both foreign and domestic."

1950's: (Batman and Robin fighting Joker, Penguin, Mr. Freeze)
Batman: "The enemies became more bizarre. The integration of science that often bordered on science fiction became necessary to defeat them."

1960's: (Robin, Batgirl, Batwoman... Bat-family shot)
Batman: "My dark world was becoming lighter and for while it was good. I was good. My world rejuvenated with color."

1970's: (Robin leaves for college, second Robin dies)
Batman: "It didn't last long, how could it. I was born into darkness and now it returned to claim me. The colors fade away."

1980's: (Batman on building shot.. via Frank Miller)
Batman: "Again I was alone. Rebel against the corruption and injustice."

1990's: (No Man's Land, Contagion, Final Crisis/ Batman being shot by Darksied)
Batman: "The millennium was fast approaching. I saw cataclysmic events and plagues almost destroy what I fight to protect. Many said it was the end of the world, if they were talking about my life they would have been right."

2000: (Batman Inc., standing with Robin, Nightwing, League of superheroes, Justice League...)
Batman: "We would prevail, I would carry on. The world was growing, I could see the global and social networking as a necessity. I would never be alone again. I must seek out others like me, even if I step down The Batman must live on. The world needs a Batman. I can see it more clearly now. The Batman is immortal, ever adapting. It will always be, I will always be.
